Do I need a Loss Assessor?
Insurance companies will use Loss Adjusters to assess the damage and estimate the cost of repair. Adjusters work for the insurance company, and do not have your best interests in mind.
Appointing Claim Makers as your Loss Assessor will ensure your interests are wholly represented and the entire claims process is managed by a professional who knows how to deal with Adjusters and Insurance companies in order to obtain a settlement that you are entitled to under your policy.
Using a Loss Assessor will mean that in a vast majority of cases you will have a significant impact on your settlement. If your insurance company is attempting to dissuade you from using a Loss Assessor they are against the idea of you being equally represented and may be aiming for a settlement on terms less equitable than what you may be entitled to.
What is a Loss Assessor and how do they differ from Loss Adjusters?
Loss Assessors and Loss Adjustors are both insurance professionals, however, there is a key difference in their role during an insurance claim:
Loss Assessors work on behalf of policyholder, you, in order to protect your interests.
Loss Adjusters are employed by the insurance company and could be working against your best interests.
A Loss Assessor fights in your corner; a Loss Adjuster maintains the interests of the insurance company and decides what the insurer will pay for….and what it will not.
Claim Makers, an FCA authorised Loss Assessor will take most of the responsibility of managing and presenting your claim to the insurance company. We will deal with the insurance company on your behalf, and will represent your interests so you receive the best settlement under the terms of your insurance policy.
